Growing up and being on the farm was a real treat. You and I made mud pies on the back veranda and cleaned house at the house in Bells Corners. He also helped my mom wallpapering, he was part of our family. There were many Happy Memories sharing breakfast together and how can I forget the Grinch's Christmas Tree you bought me. We had many good times at home with lots of good laughs. Your parting words were always LOVE YOU. You'll never be forgotten..

Thank-you Bill for being my back yard neighbor. Vickie and I could not have asked for a nicer person to share our property line with. You were always generous with sharing your tools with me and my son Liam, especially when he spent hours somewhat in your back yard digging out the black walnut stump last summer. Thanks also for putting up with me and the "Trees" and the seasonal walnut crop. Some years ago, Bill mentioned to me over the back fence (where we held our numerous conversations) that he was considering erecting a fence between our two yards. I replied that if he did so our weekly conversations would likely end as we would no longer be able to talk through the proposed fence. He never did build that fence. Every time I look out my back window - I still see Bill. Nice to have known you. signed Neighbor Ron

It is with great sadness and a very heavy heart that I received the news of William's passing. I am one of those distant family members he tracked down through the Ancestry website. We met for the first time three years ago, and continued to meet whenever he was in the Kanata area house-sitting or pet-sitting for his many friends and acquaintances. We hit it off immediately, and I always looked forward to his texts, calls and visits. I had only scratched the surface of his warm and quirky personality, and our few memorable visits to Value Village where I received quite an education on the various objets d'art to which he was attracted. He generously gifted my sister with a beautiful Depression glass pitcher and juice glasses, which now has pride of place in a display cabinet in our kitchen.
Rest in peace, William, and know that you are loved and missed by so many people, and by me as well. I hope you are in joyful reunion with those who went before. All love.

“To have great friends you must be a great friend”. Bill lived this credo and I will treasure his friendship for the rest of my days. I, too, have decorative treasures from Bill that will forever have a place of honour in my home. Please accept our sincere condolences.
Len and Donna Bertrand.

He was great neighbor, friend and my buddy. Wasn't a day go by we wouldn't see him in his yard or getting in his car. He loved his home and yard. He would talk about his family in almost every conversation we had. He had so much stuff that yard sale time he get ready just after winter to be ready for spring. He loved my dog Freedom, and Freedom would make sure he check to see if Bill was outside. It's going to be hard now not seeing him outside or telling me I should do this to our flower beds. Or I'll take Freedom for a walk.till we meet again buddy keep an eye on all the flowers this year, your in our hearts and prayers. We will miss you .God bless your family. Ron,Josie, Danika, Caitlin,Brendan.your loving neighbor.
