I was saddened by the news of Mike’s passing. I worked with Mike at STC up to his retirement. Mike always had some good advice and great stories. I also have fond memories of the DC2 Christmas parties at his house. My sincere condolences to Lorraine and the Wade family.

Rick and I were heartbroken at the sad news of Mike's passing. The time I spent working for him at STC is something I look back on with fond memories. I always enjoyed seeing his beautiful wood carvings and stained glass projects. Such remarkable talent!! Mike will always be remembered and missed by those of us lucky enough to have gotten to know him. Our deepest sympathies go out to you Lorraine and to your family. Much love, Bonnie & Rick

I was extremely saddened to hear about the passing of Mike. I knew him for years at Statistics Canada and then worked for him for 4 years before he retired. He was very well respected in the IT field at STC, quite knowledgeable and competent and a pleasure to work with. I am deeply indebted to Mike for his encouragement and for some very sound advice that had a huge impact on the rest of my career. Very deepest and heartfelt condolences to Lorraine and family.

Growing up friends with Jon, I always liked chatting upstairs with Mr. and Mrs. Wade even when we mainly lived on pizza and ping-pong below. Mike was always good-humoured, funny, and made everyone welcome — as a teenage kid I was well impressed when after three solid days of putting up decorations, Mike and Lorraine’s Christmas party had the house so full of people, too. This was hard news, and I’m sorry for your loss.

I worked with Mike at Statcan and we we bumped into each other in our post retirement wanderings.
It was always a pleasure to talk to him, he had that bubbly personality.
Edfna and I pass our condolences to Lorraine and family.

Just saw the email about Mike's passing, couldn't believe it, what a shocker. Mike and I worked together at Statistics Canada since the 70's. Over that time we also spent many hours on the golf course. So many memories, can't believe he's gone especially at such a young age. He was a dear friend and I'll miss him a lot. My deepest condolences.

Dear Lorraine and Jonathan, it is with heartfelt sadness that I have just read that your beloved husband and father Mike has passed away. Thinking of you all in thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. We were neighbours for many years, and memories of this very gentle man, with his quiet humour makes me smile. Mike will be missed by so many. May He Rest In Peace.
Take care of you. Sincerest regards, Lynda Jenkins

I always felt at home at the Wade house in my late teens and early twenties. Mike and Lorraine always welcomed us for dinner, staying up late, being loud, etc, and we're happy to host. I have fond memories of pizza nights and binge watching HBO, and crashing on the couch. Although it's been quite some time, I haven't forgotten the warmth I felt from Mike and Lorraine and it was deeply saddening to hear that he passed. He was a great father, husband, and human. My heart goes out to Jon and family, take care ❤️
