[From Kate's great niece, Trish Montle]
Great Aunt Kate (as we referred to her) was a bright light in this world and will be greatly missed.
She had an infectious laugh and an incredibly warm, loving disposition that always made me feel so happy and at ease to be around. She had a real sincerity in the way she spoke to us “kids” (my sister Andrea and me) that made us feel like she genuinely cared about what we had to say (even when we were wee!). She always made me laugh, with her cheeky little jokes and funny sayings. She was just FUN!! That’s how I’ll always remember her.
… Speaking of fun, she also baked the most delectable sweets that Andrea and I would daydream about before any and all Montle family gatherings — especially her M+M cookies. One year, I believe for one of Grandma + Grandpa’s big anniversaries, she made a spice cake with penuche icing that I still think about to this day. It was DIVINE.
Great Aunt Kate — you truly lived up to your name. You were the GREATEST!! We’ll miss you terribly, but all the lovely, sweet filled memories will carry on.
Rest peacefully (+ Say hi to Grandma + Grandpa for me!)
Love you lots, your niece Trishie
