Obituary of William (Bill) Paterson
Born Christmas Day, 1926, Bill passed away January 27, 2022 at in his 96th year. Predeceased by beloved wife Agnes (nee Porteous), son William Douglas, daughter-in-law Cheryl Paterson, parents Bill and Gladys, and siblings Lorna Fisher, Dorothy Wills (Lyle) and Robert, in-laws Mildred and Doug MacIntosh, Neil Porteous, Laura and Bob Noonan and Bruce Porteous. Survived by son David Paterson, daughter Kathleen (Dave Bradley), grandchildren Jacqueline McGann (Michael), Charles Paterson (Crystal), Will (Madeleine Duncan) and Tim Bradley, and lastly, great grandchildren Clark and Weston McGann and Parker Paterson. Also survived by in-laws Wally Fisher Lynne Paterson, Joan and Dave Kelly and Marion Porteous. Survived by many loved nieces and nephews and their children.
Bill was a strong member of communities in Ottawa, Nepean and Navan. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering at the cottage on Mississippi Lake. Dad was able to reach his glorious age thanks to the multitude of doctors, medical staff and senior residences who administered to his health. Special thanks to all of them. Family and friends may visit at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic Service at 7 p.m. is open to the public. Please wear masks if possible. Celebration of Life will be held at the Navan Vars United Church on Thursday, March 24, at 11 a.m. Attendees at the Celebration of Life will be required to be double vaccinated. Light refreshments will be served after the service. Inurnment to follow at Ormond Cemetery immediately after the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcome to Navan Vars United Church, a little church that Mom and Dad loved and felt loved, or a charity of your choice.
