Obituary of Dimostenes Christofilakis
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dimostenes “Dimos” Christofilakis on May 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at the age 84.
Predeceased by his parents Vasilios and Kanela Christofilakis (nee Economakos). Beloved husband of Antonia (nee Goranitis) of 52 years. A loving father to Kanela (Mitch), Eleni (Darcy) and Vasilios (Natalie). Cherished Pappou to Wesley, Ava and Jaime who he loved with all his heart. Dimos will be fondly remembered by his sister Georgina (Peter Chatzigiannis) as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in Canada, United States and Greece.
A special thank you to the ICU team at the General hospital for their loving care and compassion and also to Fay Papadakos for her loving support.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2nd from 6:00 - 8:00pm with Trisagion Prayers at 7:00 at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Drive) and again on Friday, June 3rd from 10:30 - 12:00pm. The funeral service will follow at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church followed by interment at Pinecrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson Canada or to the Hellenic Community of Ottawa. In the Donation Note, please indicate “In memory of Dimostenes Christofilakis”.
