Mabel Viola Colautti

(née Bailey)

January 28, 1928  - June 4, 2022

Our loving mother Mabel, passed away peacefully among her daughters and sons on a beautiful spring day she would have otherwise happily spent in her garden. Loving spouse of Walter Colautti who pre-deceased her 11 years ago; fiercely loyal and devoted mother of Carolyn (husband Paul), Ron (wife Judy), Gary (wife Jane), Dennis (wife Wendy) and Debra (husband Scott). Grandmother of Bradley, Samantha, Sarah, Andrew, Jenna, Alex and Eric. Great grandmother to Nathan, Finny, Taryn, Eliana, Gemma and Cooper. Mabel’s joy and happiness in life came from the pride and love she held for her five children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A terrifically talented cook, skilled gardener and proud homemaker, Mabel kept a home that was the envy of all who visited and her warm, welcoming manner was always appreciated by every guest and family member she hosted. In retirement, Mabel and Walter lovingly tended their gardens at their Ottawa home in the summer and spent many enjoyable winters in Florida entertaining friends and family and gardening in between visits. Skilled and competitive at any game, Mabel played euchre with new friends at her retirement home only two days prior to her passing. Her infectious laugh, tender words and loving smile will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m.  at the  Pinecrest Remembrance Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. A private funeral will be held at a later date.
