I can't remember a time when I was with Mrs. Gifford and she wasn't smiling or laughing about something. She was always dressed as if she was going out somewhere.... hair perfect, makeup, skirt or dress and don't forget the heels, even around the house. I always admired that she could do that all while raising 5 children! She was a kind and gentle woman; soft-spoken but with definite opinions on important matters. She left a beautiful example as a legacy to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and will be sorely missed..
