Obituary of Betty Lou Good

BETTY LOU GOOD, RN

(nee Wilkins) (Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing - Class of 57A)

Entered into rest with her family by her side at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the age of 87. For 62 years the devoted wife of George Good.  Loving and loved mother of Glenna (Richard Talbot) and Elizabeth (Mark Campbell).  Predeceased by her beloved son Jim.  Proud grandmother of Elizabeth, David, and Ava.  Daughter of the late Mary and Borden Wilkins. Loved niece of Cora and William Barclay who took her into their home in Athens, Ontario, and raised her from a young age.  Survived by her brother Rick Wilkins.  Predeceased by her sister Faye Bryan and her “brother” James Barclay. A lifelong nurse who cared for ailing family and friends long after leaving the Civic Hospital.  Betty volunteered with the Girl Guides of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society and for years organized her nursing class reunions.  She was an avid cook and was always on the search for her new favourite recipe.  She and George enjoyed many adventures over the years while traveling and at their home on the Rideau River in the Kemptville area.
