Obituary of Robert Davitt

Our dear Robert passed away in his sleep at home unexpectedly on August 21, 2023. He was 57. 

He is survived by his wife Andrea, stepson Steven, grandchildren Miranda (partner Colin), Kathleen, Daenerys, River and his beloved dog, Dimitri. Robert’s mother-in-law, Aileen, and his father in law, Thomas predeceased him. He is also survived by his loving in- laws, Susan (Conrad), Sharon (Guy) and Linda. From Ireland, Robert is survived by his loving sister, Jackie (Brian predeceased), brothers Paul (Adrienne) and Peter (Deirdre), niece Julie and nephew Ross. Robert is predeceased by his beloved parents John and Monika.

Robert was born and raised in Dublin Ireland. He trained and worked as a chef in Europe after which he travelled to Ottawa where he worked at The Panache in Quebec. He continued to work as a chef at a variety of restaurants including The Manx and The Main Street Cafe. Through the time he spent in Ottawa, Robert spread his Irish charm amongst the many friends he developed in the Irish community. 

Robert will always be remembered for his tremendous sense of humour, his extraordinary culinary skills and his love for family and dogs. Robert will be forever missed by his family and numerous friends here in Canada and in Ireland.

 The funeral for Robert will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church, 1619 Main Street, Stittsville, ON at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Ottawa Humane Society.
