Obituary of Barbara Jean Keith (nee Mulholland)
Barbara Jean Keith passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 22, 2023 following a lengthy battle with mixed dementia.
Predeceased by both her parents, she is survived by her devoted husband, William (Bill), daughters Alison (David Davidson) and Audrey Thompson, brother Brett Mulholland, his wife Kim and their family, and Bill’s brother Jim Keith (Lorna) and their family. She is the beloved grandmother of Bryan Davidson, Leah Davidson and Ian Thompson (Meghan).
Born to John Gracey Mulholland and Marjorie Grace Stewart in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia she remained a proud Cape Bretoner to the end.
As a result of the best blind date ever, she and Bill enjoyed almost sixty five years of loving marriage.
A graduate of the Ottawa Civic Hospital Nursing School in 1958 she spent a lifetime caring for others. She was a respected elder in the Presbyterian Church of Canada, most recently at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church in Ottawa. She enjoyed curling, golf, bridge and was a voracious reader.
The family is grateful for the care provided by the staff at Extendicare West End Villa and the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
The family requests anyone wishing to make a memorial donation consider The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
Friends are invited to Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road for a Graveside Service on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11am followed by refreshments in the Pinecrest Reception Centre.
