Obituary of Linda Edey (nee Freeman)

Linda passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21st, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late David Edey, and loving mother to her sons, Jeff (Shelley, nee Horner) and Mark (Dorothy, nee Holt). She was also a very proud and devoted Grandmother to Zak, Adam, Brooke, and Shane. Predeceased by her parents William and Beatrice Freeman, and her brother Brent (Diane nee Conrad).

Linda was born in Ottawa and raised on a farm in Hull. She met the love of her life, David Edey and they spent their life together raising a family and living around the world, before retiring back in Ottawa.

She was an independent and generous person who had a wonderful smile, sense of humour, and genuinely enjoyed life with her family and many friends. She was passionate about quilting, gardening, and entertaining.

A special thank you to the wonderful Doctors from the Community Palliative Medicine Associates, the Bayshore Nurses, and the PSW’s from Jane’s Senior Care Services for their outstanding care and compassion. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Road on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 12noon until time of the service at 2pm.  Reception to follow.
