Obituary of Barbara Ann Brancato (Nee Thomson) "Nonna"

Peacefully surrounded by her 4 children in the beginning of her 89th year. Beloved wife of George Brancato (deceased) Coach of the Ottawa Rough Riders. Loving mother of Cindi (Glen Foley), Wendy, George Jr. (Joanne Sheahan) and Alicia (Peter Chiarelli). Cherished "Nonna" to Kayla Foley, Hayden, Liam and Haley Neuman, Talia and Cameron Chiarelli, Lilly and Kensi Brancato, as well as granddogs Raymond and Trek. 

Born into the Thomson Family of Ottawa as one of 8 children, Barbara and her twin sister Gloria were the youngest, and 6 Brothers (Gregory, Murray, Stanley and Ross (twins), Gary, Carl (Sony) all previously deceased and the many nieces and nephews who were a big part of her life over the years. Barb had a warm and engaging smile that brought family and friends together; she was the glue that kept her family close and connected.

The family would like to thank the staff and many friends she made at Stirling Park Retirement Home where she resided these past few years.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Apostle Church, 2340 Baseline Road, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 11am. Reception to follow.
