Obituary of Jenny Lynn Deek
Jenny passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024 with loved ones by her side. She leaves behind her adoring husband, Zahi of 48 years and her beloved children Andrew (Jessie), Patricia (Christian), Alexandra (Firas), Diana (Chris), and Nicholas (Natalia). Jenny was the most loving grandma to Lily, Charlotte, Jacob, Elliot, Zahi, David, and Jenny. She is also survived by her cherished siblings Anne (Joe), Robert (Wendy), Joy (Fred) and her many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Jenny was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Gertrude Kurdziel.
Jenny, known to many as Mama Deek, was a woman of immense generosity and kindness, always giving to others. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and her spiritual and church communities. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome in her home, especially through her love of cooking.
For over 30 years, Jenny shared her love of music by teaching piano. She also dedicated many years to working at Centrepointe House, a centre for healing. Her zest for life was evident in her unwavering support of her community, her love of travel, her talent in music, and her passion for painting.
Jenny lived her life with a positivity that was contagious, embracing every moment to its fullest. She will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her generous heart, and her love for life.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 4pm to 8pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10am at Bethany Baptist Church, 382 Centrepointe Drive, Ottawa.
