A. Murray Dickson. I remember the first time I saw that name. I was learning how to bake with Eleanor and I stepped out on the deck to take a smoke and I saw that sign next to the kitchen door at Rocky Top. I will never forget meeting that garrulous and gregarious natural salesman. He became a father figure for me and treated me like a son; me and my children learned to fish with Murray and I learned the importance of cottage maintenance.
My most vivid memory of Murray is when we were fishing on the high seas off of the southern coast of Puerto Rico. The sea was rough with 10 to 15 foot swells, but Murray, who had just had a knee replacement a month before was a game and very active fisherman. We caught over 100 pounds of Mahi Mahi, and that was after the trimming. Murray showed his resolute courage going to use the head to take pee with the boat pitching in the 15 foot waves. The courageous part was that he had to use a catheter. I am still in awe :)
